🎮How to Connect to Your Minecraft Bedrock Server

This guide covers connecting to your Minecraft Bedrock server from any device: Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PlayStation, iOS, Android, and Windows 10/11.

Before You Start

🎮 Nintendo Switch / Xbox / PlayStation

Console editions have restrictions on joining external servers. Use BedrockConnect to bypass this.

Method: BedrockConnect (Recommended)

DNS Settings

Primary DNS: 104.238.130.180

Secondary DNS: 8.8.8.8

Open Network Settings

Go to your console's Settings > Network > Internet Settings (or similar).

Configure DNS Manually

Save and Restart Minecraft

Save the settings and completely close Minecraft. Relaunch the game.

Connect via Featured Servers

Troubleshooting

Can't find "Add Server" on console?

Console versions don't have a direct Add Server option. You must use the BedrockConnect DNS method described above.

Unable to connect to world?

Make sure you're using port 19132 (UDP). If using Smart Sleep, the server may need 60 seconds to wake up. Try connecting again.

BedrockConnect menu not appearing?

Make sure DNS settings are saved correctly and you've fully restarted Minecraft. Try a different featured server as the entry point.

Can Java and Bedrock players play together?

No, Java Edition and Bedrock Edition are not compatible. They cannot join the same server.

Don't have a server yet?

Try NordHost free for 5 hours. No credit card required.
