This guide covers connecting to your Minecraft Bedrock server from any device: Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PlayStation, iOS, Android, and Windows 10/11.
Console editions have restrictions on joining external servers. Use BedrockConnect to bypass this.
Primary DNS: 104.238.130.180
Secondary DNS: 8.8.8.8
Go to your console's Settings > Network > Internet Settings (or similar).
Select your connection and choose Manual DNS settings. Enter Primary DNS: 104.238.130.180 and Secondary DNS: 8.8.8.8
Save the settings and completely close Minecraft. Relaunch the game.
Go to Play > Servers tab. Click any featured server (like Hive or Mineplex). Instead of connecting, you'll see the BedrockConnect menu.
Select "Connect to a Server". Enter your NordHost server IP and port 19132. Click Connect!
PlayStation network settings are in Settings > Network > Set Up Internet Connection. Choose your connection type, then select Custom to manually configure DNS.
Mobile devices can connect directly without DNS workarounds.
Launch Minecraft on your mobile device and tap "Play".
Tap the "Servers" tab at the top of the screen.
Scroll down past the featured servers and tap "Add Server".
Enter a server name (anything you like), your server IP address, and port 19132. Tap "Save".
Select your server from the list and tap "Join Server".
Windows Bedrock Edition can add servers directly.
Launch Minecraft for Windows from the Microsoft Store.
Click "Play", then go to the "Servers" tab.
Scroll down and click "Add Server". Enter server name, IP address, and port 19132.
Click "Play" to join your server!
Console versions don't have a direct Add Server option. You must use the BedrockConnect DNS method described above.
Make sure you're using port 19132 (UDP). If using Smart Sleep, the server may need 60 seconds to wake up. Try connecting again.
Make sure DNS settings are saved correctly and you've fully restarted Minecraft. Try a different featured server as the entry point.
No, Java Edition and Bedrock Edition are not compatible. They cannot join the same server.
